Scholarships Committee

The Scholarship Committee of the Graduate Program in History at Salgado de Oliveira University (PPGH) plays a crucial role in managing the scholarships awarded to students. In collaboration with the Rectory and the Program’s Coordination, the committee establishes criteria for granting and canceling scholarships for students enrolled in the master's and doctoral programs.

The committee is composed of 2 (two) faculty representatives and 3 (three) student representatives, and it evaluates the feasibility of awarding scholarships, ensuring that the criteria set by the institution are strictly adhered to.

One of its main responsibilities is to require and analyze the semi-annual reports submitted by the students. These reports are reviewed by the advisors and the committee itself, which issues a technical opinion. The continuous evaluation process allows for detailed monitoring of the academic progress of scholarship recipients.

At the end of each year, a final report is required, which, in addition to the advisor’s opinion, includes a detailed evaluation by the committee. This document is crucial as it is sent to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), to determine whether the scholarship should be maintained, renewed, or terminated.

It is important to note that the criteria and the number of scholarships granted are not determined by the Scholarship Committee. These are established by the funding agencies in collaboration with the Rectory and the coordinators of the graduate programs.

Thus, the committee focuses on verifying the operation and ensuring compliance with the established rules.

Additionally, the Scholarship Committee is always available to clarify doubts and respond to students' inquiries, providing continuous and transparent support throughout the entire process of granting and maintaining scholarships. In this way, the committee ensures that the rules are followed and that students receive the necessary support for the development of their research.

Self-Assessment Committee

Self-Assessment PPGH UNIVERSO

The PPGH (Postgraduate Program in History) at Universidade Salgado de Oliveira began its activities in 2006 with the structuring of the Master's course in Brazilian History. In 2016, the Doctoral program was approved, with the reformulation of its focus to “Society and Movements,” alongside the research lines “Society, Population Movements, and Cultures” and “Politics, Social Movements, and Memory.” Over the course of 15 years, the program has stood out for its innovative actions in student training, faculty development, research activities, the production and publication of academic texts, and internationalization.

As part of this process, since the graduation of the first group of Master's students, the coordination has carried out self-assessment work with alumni, using it as a basis for discussions and reformulation of projects. In August 2019, recognizing the importance of this work and the possibility of organizing, expanding, and standardizing the self-assessment procedure independently, a committee was established specifically focused on this dimension.

Data on the self-assessment project and the activities developed within this scope can be found at the link below.
